Almost all (90%) of Seychelles’ waste ends up in landfills, with the total volume increasing by 3% annually. According to the Seychelles Sustainable Development Strategy (2012-2020), the 93,000 inhabitants of the western Indian Ocean archipelago produce around 48,000 tonnes of waste annually.
