• Samsung unveiled four innovative concept printers at IFA 2014: Vase, Egg Tray, One & One and Mate, designed for home and office use, featuring rich, vibrant colours, unique shapes and eco-friendly features.
Samsung Electronics unveiled its innovative new concept printer at IFA 2014, introducing printing technology in a new and exciting way. The four concept printers, designed for the home and office, feature vibrant colors, unique shapes, and eco-friendly features such as the ability to use recycled paper. These concepts won the 2014 iF Design Award in the Concept Design category. Samsung hopes these new printers will play a major role in the growing trend of mobile printing.
“Samsung’s concept printer was designed with three key elements in mind: simplicity, portability, and speed of use,” said Seungwook Jeong, chief designer of printing solutions at Samsung Electronics. “We developed the concept printer to leverage the trend of mobile printing for homes and offices, as well as the growing popularity of eco-friendly technologies. We are excited to bring a completely new printing experience to small businesses and home offices.”
As mobile printing becomes more popular, Vase is a monochrome laser printer that will take up minimal space in your living room. Its vertical design allows users to feed paper vertically, saving space, and it is available in a variety of neutral colors to match your living room design.
”Egg Tray” is an eco-friendly packaging for toner cartridges made from 100% recycled paper. Unlike traditional paper boxes containing cushions, operating instructions and warranty cards, the “egg tray” uses a molded tray made of pulp and recycled paper, which not only saves material costs but is also more environmentally friendly.
The One & One is a monochrome laser printer with a hybrid design that can print in two different colors. Two ink cartridges allow users to print in cyan, magenta, or yellow in addition to the standard black toner.
”Mate” is a monochrome laser printer that allows users to customize the color of the device using a color panel to match the design of the room. The panels are replaceable depending on the user’s personal preference.
