Taylor Tabb sneakers come with inkjet cartridges so you can print anywhere, anytime.

Taylor Tubb’s Footprints are both shoes and printers, representing an unexpected concept where fashion and technology intertwine. Whimsical and practical, the product reimagines the possibilities of wearable technology. At first glance, the Footprints feature a classic Converse Mid-Top silhouette, but come with genuine HP cartridges and some inkjet printing hardware. A built-in printer hidden under the sole of the shoe offers a humorous solution to the age-old dilemma of choosing between wearing a printer and wearing stylish footwear.
Borrowing from portable built-in printers, Taylor Tubb’s Footprints take elements from the world of print technology and combine them with the timeless appeal of Converse sneakers. The final, improved product is 100% footwear and 100% printer, and can be printed on any surface. “This project is a product of pure fun and curiosity. What happens when two very different objects become one? What happens when two very different brands collaborate?” the designer asked.
This fictional collaboration between Converse and HP is Tabb’s latest creation, continuing his exploration of computation and expression in manufacturing. From edible robots embedded in watermelon shells to wearable chemical energy storage systems, the designer has long explored how engineering toolkits can be applied to the design world in new and unexpected ways.

It’s happening now! Ahead of the event, which runs from 4th to 7th February, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) has unveiled an audiovisual event that will transform Barcelona into a canvas for light, art and unprecedented technology.
